SLTV StarSeries IV's first CS:GO season has reached the playoffs, which will will give out $15,000 in prizes at CyberSports ARENA in Kiev, Ukraine on December 20-23.
Virtus.pro and JAS topped the online group stage, which saw each team play one another once, with a record of 9-2 each. Third place went to the Poles of ESC Gaming, while fourth was much closer.
ANGE1 & co had the best regular season record
Last playoff spot went to Russian zNation, who qualified due to receiving two forfeit wins; one against ESC who bought too many smokes in one round in a 16-14 win, and another one against Cph Wolves, who were already out of the event.
The organizers of SLTV StarSeries IV wanted zNation to face mousesports.de in a relegation match to determine who would make it to the finals, but the German side declined the chance.

The finals will take place on December 20-23 at CyberSports ARENA in Kiev, Ukraine. Given the four days the tournament will have to finish with just four participants, the format is also fitting to determine the best team in attendance.
The event will feature a double elimination best-of-three bracket with a best-of-five final, where the winner of the upper bracket will start with a 1-0 lead. HLTV.org will cover the event from home.
